TFR Video Jukebox

This Session Portal variant is a "light" version of our Session Portal Single Project.

Use case

A Video Jukebox is a tool for organisations that need an easy and safe storage for videos online, giving secure access to only a limited group of users. Access to each individual video can be tuned: either to only the person that uploaded the video, to all users and everything in between.

User roles

There are three roles for users:

  1. Uploader/viewer: this will probably be the largest group: the users of your portal that will upload and view videos. They will all be able to see the videos that they uploaded themselves, but also videos when given access by another user.
  2. Video Manager: can access all videos and correct the settings on videos. They can also delete videos from the system. When needed the Video Manager(s) in the portal can receive an email notification after each new video upload.
  3. User Manager can define unlimited new accounts for users.

Roles can be combined, for smaller organisations the Video Manager may be the same user as the User manager...

Variables for annotation of videos

Through the TFR upload tools you can easily upload videos to the portal, thereby indicating:

  • date of recording

  • name of the video

  • keywords for describing the content of the video (you can make up your own keywords

  • classification of the video in categories your project manager can define

Grow path

This Video Jukebox is an ideal starting point when you just want to collect videos for easy retrieval and viewing. Later you can always expand this Video Jukebox into a full blown Session Portal.

Capacity

This Video Jukebox can contain up to 1000 videos. The length of a video is not relevant for the portal itself, although it adds to your storage needs. After reaching 1000 videos, the capacity may be expanded. Some work may be involved to keep good overview on large amounts of videos.
