Website for Cosanta

Cosanta is a knowledge-intensive consultancy organisation. They help companies in the prevention of health risks caused by exposure to hazardous and chemical substances.

Founded in 2014, they had a head start in organising several events (Dutch National day of Chemical Substances -  Nationale Stoffendag). In 2016 we developed their website, based on a design of their design agency.

In this bilingual website we now find:

  • static pages
  • pages about workshops, with registration
  • agenda
  • news

Apple iPad App for recording & uploading

In 2015 we developed an iPad App for recording and uploading sensitive video data. This App is currently used recording therapist - client interactions in health care situations. All videos are stored on our secure video servers for later viewing and download.

Several of our customers (in health care and universities) record videos for quality assurance and for educational purposes. Until recently this was only possible using commercially available camcorders which record on an SD-card. Using out upload software, customers could upload the recordings securely to our video storage servers.

The iPad app offers better user experience and more security: no more SD-cards that can get lost. Furthermore uploading is much easier, since it does not require extra divices. All is done from the iPad.

This iPad app is now available for customers that use our session portals, but if you have need for an application like this, we will gladly develop a version for you!

Safety culture monitor

The world is changing fast. Faster then ever. Nowadays safety cannot be managed with rules and regulations only. Safety is only there when all involved have safety as a concept in their professional behaviour and attitude.

Do you have an idea of the safety culture in your organisation? What aspects of the safety culture need attention in order top strengthen the safety performance?

These questions can be answered with the Safety Culture Monitor that was developed by Tools for Research. This monitor is useful for organisations or departments larger than 100 people, where safety is core business. The organisations are in Energy, Water, Gas, Industry and Government.

The primary goal of the Safety Culture Monitor is to help organisations to make active advancements in their Safety Culture and their Safety Performance. The Safte Culture Monitor contains the following:

  • Organisation check-in and decision making
We start with a board meeting in which we discuss expectations and possible results. And about how the monitor can best be employed within your organisation. Together we take all necessary steps. Based on that you decide if and how to deploy this Safety Culture Monitor. We develop the projects along your wishes and demands.

  • Safety Culture Monitor: collect data
An important part of the Safety Culture Monitor is the compact survey. We work with a standardized (online) questionnaire, but this can optionally be ..... with questions that are specific for your organisation. We always want the process of the survey to go optimally smooth, so we firstly pilot the questionnaire amond a sample of your population. This may lead to some adjustments. If necessary qualitative data can be gathered during meetings, interviews or through observation.

  • Analysing your data, computing the score
The tested and revised questionnaire will then be deployed among (a part of) your population and all responses will be analysed. Based on the analysis we produce a presentation with your Safety Culture Score and the Safety Culture Panel. This will give a clear view on how your organisation scores on several aspects of Safety Culture. With custom analysis methods we also compute which of these aspects contributes to the safety performance of your organisation. In other words: we supply you with a steering wheel. If your organisation wishes this and only when there are enough respondents, we can also define Safety Culture Panels for smaller sections of the respondents. For example for departments.

  • Discuss and develop improvements
We present and discuss our findings with you. We develop new strategies towards safety culture in your world, among all developments your organisation is in. This dialogue (preferably with multiple stakeholders) about safety culture contributes toward more openness about safety. This meeting will lead to shared insights in both the direction as well as the activities that are needed to make the work sustainable. Also in times of change.

PDF output from LimeSurvey

For the Antonius Hospital we developed a module for PDF output from LimeSurvey, assisting both doctors as well as clients in obtaining a clean print from a LimeSurvey entry. This was not possible using the standard output modules from LimeSurvey.

For this project we have used  mPDF, an open source system which enables us to generate PDF documents from HTML, based on the LimeSurvey data. We now can generate beautiful reports using (HTML focussed) style sheets in CSS.

Technical details
  • LimeSurvey as basis for questionnaires
  • mPDF for generating reports
  • PHP to glue it all together
  • CSS for styling

Dutch Decent Work Survey

For FNV (the largest Dutch worker's union) we developed the technical aspects of the Gewoon Goed Werk-Meter (Dutch implementation of the Decent Work index), with two main goals:

  1. each respondent receives a personalized report on how she/he experiences the work and where to find possible improvements. This report is generated at the end of filling in the survey. In the report the respondent is presented with a comparison of her/his own results with others in the organisation, the sector and the country (only when enough respondents are there to compare with)
  2. for the workers' union it is a tool for gaining insight in workers experience in several sectors and organizations. These results are used for negotiations and other work of the workers union.

The GGWM is a survey that was developed by FNV, based on the English Decent Work Index. The survey was validated multiple times by TNO (Dutch Organisation for Applied Scientific Research).

Technical details
  • The website of the GGWM was build with Drupal7
  • the survey was build with LimeSurvey.
  • The reporting system was built with jQuery based on direct interaction with the LimeSurvey database.
